Have you heard about bubble tea and are curious to try it yourself? Bubble tea is a delicious and refreshing drink in many different flavors.
It’s also fun to drink, as it has chewy tapioca balls at the bottom of the cup. If you’re wondering how to enjoy bubble tea properly, this post is here to help!
What Is Bubble Tea?
Bubble tea (boba tea) is a Taiwanese beverage made with sweetened black or green tea, milk or creamer, light syrup or fruit juice, and tapioca balls.
The tapioca balls give the drink its signature “bubble” texture – hence the name “bubble tea.” It can be served hot or cold and comes in various flavors, including mango, strawberry, taro, lychee, and coconut.
Can You Eat Boba?
Many people wonder if you can eat boba, and the answer is yes!
Tapioca pearls are made from tapioca starch, which comes from the cassava plant. They are small, chewy, and have a slightly sweet flavor.
While they look like small colored pearls, they are meant to be eaten, and even have some health benefits!
How To Drink Bubble Tea
When you order your bubble tea at a cafe or restaurant, you’ll typically be given two items – a large cup filled with your chosen flavor of bubble tea and a wide straw specifically designed for sipping bubble tea.
But what to do if you get your drink or don’t know how to order it in the first place? Let’s break it up!
Step 1: Choose Your Drink
The first step in drinking bubble tea is knowing the drink you want. There are many different types of bubble tea, including fruit-flavored teas, milk teas, coffee-flavored teas, and even herbal teas.
So, when ordering or making bubble tea, the first step is to choose your favorite flavor.
Step 2: Add or Choose Toppings
Bubble tea often comes with toppings like tapioca pearls or popping boba. These toppings add texture and flavor to every sip.
Some people prefer their bubble tea without toppings, while others add as many as possible to the cup! It all depends on your personal preference.
When you have chosen the drink’s flavor, choose the preferred topping(s).
Step 3: Stir Well
Once you have chosen or added your desired toppings, stir your drink well so that all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the cup.
Even if you ordered the drink, it’s reasonable to stir it again, you can do it with the straw. Some people even give a slight stir before every sip! This will ensure that every sip is just as delicious as the last.
Remember that some toppings may stick together if you don’t stir first!
Step 4: Drink Up!
Now that your bubble tea is ready, it’s time to enjoy it! Tapioca balls are heavy and sink to the bottom of the cup, so take small sips from your straw as you go along to make sure you can savor every pearl!
Remember to always chew boba pearls, they are not meant to be swallowed without chewing.
Also, watch for other ingredients like jelly cubes or pieces of fruit that might be hiding at the bottom of your cup! You don’t want to miss out on any deliciousness!
That’s it, enjoy the drink! And who knows? You may just find yourself addicted to this sweet treat before long.
